The Conjuring 2 Review

The Ghost Attic

First off The Conjuring 2 – The Enfield Case is up with the scariest horror movies I have ever seen…so far!

A short summary without ruining the movie for you, consists of a follow up case in Enfield, North London in 1977, which is investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Hodgson family which consists of a single parent and her 4 children, start encountering a spirit of an old man that had lived in the household previously. The youngest girl of the family is possessed and singled out by the spirit. When the Warrens arrive at the household, they end up experiencing one of their most horrifying and challenging cases in there career.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I hope that doesn’t give to much away. Below I can give you the Spooks and Kooks of the movie (Pros and Cons). Check them out!

SPOOKS

Basically the movie is packed full of scares and drawn-out spooky moments! It was well filmed and was directed by the same director as the first movie, James Wan. Without watching The Conjuring, the first one, you can relate to James Wan’s style of scare through this film also. He definitely fills this flick with reeeeeal scary scenarios. The ‘spirits/demons’ that appear in the movie are ridiculously creepy and I have to take my halo off to the people behind the make-up and special effects. Without spoiling the beginning, it starts at a location that you wouldn’t expect, which draws you into the movie immediately and allows you to sink deeper and deeper into your chair.

KOOKS

To be honest with you there isn’t much negativity about this movie. I did hear on the vine that Ed and Lorraine Warren weren’t really involved in this case in real life. But in the movie they are involved 90% of the time. I feel there should of been a bit more recognition for those paranormal investigators that were actually part of the Enfield case. Also a few cheesy scenes involving Ed and Lorraine but that’s about it!

Checkout the trailer below. Trust me when I say there is a lot more scary scenes they don’t show you in this preview!

So in conclusion get to the cinema before this finishes and see it! Hey, I’m thinking of going again, but this time I’m taking the girlfriend just so I can see her freak out.

If you have not seen the first The Conjuring  or you miss The Conjuring 2 – The Enfield Case, you can use these hyperlinks to purchase on DVD or Blueray.
